These Old Shadesと比べてしまって☆が減りましたが、やっぱりHeyerは面白いです。60ページ過ぎくらいから目が離せなくなりました。
TOSから24年後、Avon公爵とLeonieの息子、Vidal侯爵Dominicがヒーローです。60歳を過ぎたAvon公爵、ちょっとしか出てこないのに一番存在感があったなあ（もちろん肝心な場面で重要な役割を担ってましたけど）。LeonieやRupert、Lady Fannyなどの面々も、キャラは全然変わってなくて懐かしかったです。
Heyerのロマンスはkissシーン止まりだけど、現代のロマンスよりもある意味浪漫に浸れるし、オリジナルなので好きです。じゃあ、なぜもっと読まないかって、難しいからです(苦笑）。昔の言葉づかいとか文体が・・・それと、たくさんあって次にどれを読むか迷うからです。さて、次は何を読もう・・・
